Shoulders & Inversions Te pratiprasavaheyah sukshmah: Subtle afflictions are
overcome by a process of reversal (involution). In this module, we explore the shoulders and arms, and how to shift our foundation from the lower body to the upper body in inversions. Philosophically, we begin to examine our preconceptions about who we are and how things "should" be, and begin to understand yoga as a process of de-conditioning our habits – mental, physical, and spiritual. How do we know things? Why is there suffering? What can we do to change things? We consider action as it is explained in the Bhagavad Gita. Pranayama practice requiring conscious control is introduced. Mantra of the month: Tat tvam asi (Thou art That). |
